Biographie

* 1956 in Hannover geboren;
nach dem Abitur (1975) Beginn des Studiums Physik/ Musik (Musik bei Prof. Walter Heise) an der Universität Osnabrück für das Lehramt Sek. I im Modellversuch der einphasigen Lehrerausbildung;
von 1979 – 1981 Studium am Hermann – Zilcher – Konservatorium in Würzburg und
von 1981 – 1984 Studium an der Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg.

Dozent an der Berufsfachschule für Musik in Sulzbach – Rosenberg für Schlagzeug und Tonsatz;

1. Preis beim Kompositionswettbewerb der PAS (Percussive Arts Society) im Jahre 2002 für das Set – up Solo „Canned Heat“ und 2003 für das Marimba Solo „Three Movements for a Solo Dancer“. Ebenfalls 2003 einen 3. Preis für die Komposition „Exploration of Time“ für 6 Schlagzeuger;
- Workshops/ Kurse mit neuer Literatur
- Juror bei nationalen (Jugend Musiziert , Landes – und Bundeswettbewerb; MarimbaFestiva, Nürnberg;...) und internationalen Wettbewerben
- Auftragskompositionen für verschiedene Ensembles, Wettbewerbe und Orchester

Eckhard Kopetzki was born 1956 in Hannover/Germany.
He studied to teach music and physics at the University of Osnabrück and the Music College in Würzburg.
Since 1985 he teaches percussion instruments and and music theory (harmony) at the „Berufsfachschule für Musik“ in Sulzbach – Rosenberg.
He is well known for his compositions for both the elementary education sector and for concerts, as well as various chamber music compositions.
In 2002 he won the 1st prize in the PAS (Percussive Arts Society) composition contest for his set – up solo „Canned Heat“ ; in 2003 he won the 1st prize with his solo for marimba „Three Movements for a Solo Dancer“.
Many pieces were commissioned from several ensembles and orchestras; he is also busy as a juror in international competitions.
